actually, this is the writing that I give to myself. so that I can better enjoy life with grateful for what I have. and hopefully this will inspire everyone who has ever felt that life is often unfair. this also special for my best-friend, vira.

Do grateful for this beautiful life.Never stop to give thanks as a form of gratitude for the blessings that we have received.Do grateful to be blessed with health, that makes us able to think clearly and invite others towards a better direction.
Should never delay thanksgiving and gratitude.Because we will never know how much longer to live in this world.So, now also say thanks for all the blessings that we have felt.
Thank you to everyone who helped us to inject the spirit of this life.Thanks to the fiery spirit, we confidently look to the future more meaningful.Believe that there's always hope of a better up ahead.As long as we have never stopped to try, grateful, and based prayer.

Moments with Enron Corporation

too difficult to think well tonight. was almost three hours I was struggling with my laptop. but it is extremely difficult for my brain to think. oh God, please give me inspirations.

issues of Enron Corporation and its stuff concerned to white collar crime studies are my obligation to finish this week. I do not even know the company before. I either hang out or something less that the company is not known.

I do not know the Enron Corporation, yes, because I was never too concerned to such problems of the world. social and political side of me have not honed when the Enron Corporation went bankrupt.

2001, the year in which Enron Corporation and its bankrupt became the most popular news in the international business of the world. and even I was still sitting on the bench of primary school at that time. is clear and certain that I did not know things like that complicated. My mind has not much capacity to think about it.

I do not care. like the other children in general primary schools, of course, at that time I was only interested in playing, playing, playing and school.

River Under the Sea

Di perairan Cenote Angelita, Mexico ada sebuah gua. Jika menyelam sampai kedalaman 30 meter, airnya air segar (tawar), namun jika menyelam sampai kedalaman lebih dari 60 meter, airnya menjadi air asin, lalu terlihat sebuah “sungai” di dasarnya, lengkap dengan pohon dan daun daunan.




Seorang penyelam bernama Anatoly Beloshchin*, ketika sedang melakukan eksplorasi di bawah laut, tiba-tiba ia menemukan beberapa kumpulan mata air tawar yang sangat segar rasanya karena tidak bercampur dengan air laut yang asin di sekelilingnya, seolah-olah ada dinding atau membran yang membatasi keduanya. Belum diketahui penyebab terpisahnya air tawar dari air asin di tengah-tengah lautan ini.**

“Pusat perbelanjaan Senayan City dipenuhi oleh calon pembeli sandal dan sepatu merek Crocs di hari kedua brand impor tersebut menggelar diskon besar-besaran, Jakarta Pusat, Selasa (16/3). Antrean warga Ibu Kota di Senayan City, tampak dari lantai dasar hingga lantai enam. Bayangkan, ratusan orang sudah sibuk mengantre dari pukul 07.00 WIB, padahal pesta diskon Crocs baru dimulai tiga jam kemudian.”

Ya. Beberapa hari terakhir, warga Jakarta sedang sibuk berbelanja sepatu impor bermerek itu. Euphoria dirasakan oleh banyak orang. Kegembiraan yang berlebihan akibat tuntutan gaya hidup. Sepertinya pernyataan tersebut tepat untuk menggambarkan mereka yang merasakannya. Diskon besar-besaran ini seolah menjadi amat penting bagi segelintir masyarakat.

Miris. Memang. Disaat jutaan sesama sedang bergulat melawan penyakit. Disaat jutaan anak sedang bergumul bersama debu-debu jalanan. Disaat banyak bayi dan balita meninggal sia-sia hanya karena alasan klise yang berlandaskan kemiskinan. Disaat banyak keluarga miskin kesulitan mencari uang untuk biaya pendidikan dan kesehatan. Sebagian orang “berduit” justru menghambur-hamburkan uang dengan caranya masing-masing atas nama tuntutan gaya hidup.

Saya bukan seorang yang sok berjiwa sosial tinggi. Saya bukan seorang yang terlalu perhatian pada masalah-masalah negara seperti ini. Saya pun bukan tidak pernah membelanjakan uang hanya untuk memenuhi keinginan hedonistik saya. Tetapi saya sangat tersentuh dengan keadaan kesenjangan sosial masyarakat beberapa hari belakangan. Pada lima menit saya membaca berita tentang seorang anak yang kesulitan biaya untuk berobat, di lima menit berikutnya saya membaca berita tentang ratusan orang yang sibuk mengantre diskon sandal bermerek.

Adalah munafik jika di ranah pendidikan, mulai pendidikan dasar hingga pendidikan tinggi, kita selalu berorasi tentang pentingnya penghapusan kesenjangan sosial, tetapi ketika kita kembali ke masyarakat justru kita lah yang menjadi aktor-aktor munculnya kesejangan sosial tadi.

Ironis.

Alice Syndrome

I just returned from the cinema after watching Alice in Wonderland. for some reason I kept thinking about that film, remembering all of the characters in the film. though, I frankly admit that the story is a bit strange and not very interesting.
two weeks ago, I watched Shutter Island. I think the film is very good by terms of the story. but somehow after I returned from the cinema, I immediately forgot about the movie.
whether there was something odd about my movie tastes? I hope not.

Kalkulasi mengkuantifikasi manfaat suatu tindakan.

Sudah menjadi kodrat manusia bahwa dalam setiap tindakan yang dilakukannya berdasarkan pada penghitungan untung-rugi. Manusia adalah makhluk rasional yang secara sadar memilih kesenangan dan menghindarkan kesedihan. Memilih kebaikan dan menghindarkan keburukan. Memilih keuntungan da menghindarkan kerugian. Rasional.

Kebahagiaan. Itulah yang dicari dari setiap kalkulasi tindakan. Ini adalah variabel yang digunakan ketika seorang manusia berpikir tentang kesenangan macam apa yang patut dieksplorasi. Ini adalah asumsi bahwa manusia hidup dalam gaya hidup yang hedonistik, yang menghindari rasa sakit secara fisik dan psikologis.

Kebahagiaan adalah kepastian. Kepastian adalah suatu ketidakpastian. Kepastian tidak pernah jelas. Tapi, kebahagiaan jelas jika kita mau menciptakannya sendiri.
